Zeke Piestrup Host: Fresh: New Music
You need a quick wit and big road map to survive Zeke Piestrup's trip through the music biz. He's gone from the dizzy heights of chewing through expense accounts as an A&R rep to the depths of dot-com - and somehow has survived to fire off quips on VH1's Fresh: New Music.
Zeke's current home is Los Angeles' KROQ radio. His specialty show, Music From Your Own Backyard, has spotlighted some of the hottest local talent from No Doubt to Sublime to Sugar Ray to Queens of the Stone Age since 1996.
Zeke became a familiar face on the L.A. scene as host of Zeke's Backyard Night, a weekly showcase that didn't really take place in his backyard, but did spotlight some of the hottest local talent from … well, you get the idea. Suffice it to say that in 1998 he was named one of the 100 most influential Californians in the music industry. Now Zeke's going nationwide as the host of Fresh, bringing his appreciative eye and forked tongue to bear on the best music out there.
