Artist Interviews
Kurtis Blow:
"'Push It' was a huge pop song and a big crossover song. It did a lot for hip-hop. It showed everyone in hip-hop and the rest of the world that females can do this thing too. Females can buy records, females can actually start rapping. Look at S-N-P: They're good, they're pretty, and at the same time they're hard, they have skills."

Ed Lover:
"Salt-N-Pepa didn't even think that would be a hit record, but [producer] Hurby [Luv Bug] was smart enough to know that that was gonna be a smash record. They were respected because they were beautiful; they were classy; they were intelligent and smart and funny."

Ludacris:
"I had a little crush on Salt at one time. Then I had a crush on Pepa. Then I had a crush on Spinderella. I'm like, "Damn." All of them was looking good to me, so it was a great point in history. They really put it down for the females. Showed everybody that females could also do this rap thing and they paved the way for a lot of females, for sure."
