Full Biography

  1. Consistently recognized for having played the character of 'President Wayne Palmer' on FOX's critically-acclaimed Emmy Award-winning drama "24," DB Woodside will next be seen as "Malcolm Franks" in VH1's second season of the television series "Single Ladies" -- produced by Queen Latifah. Last season he also recurred as Dr. Joe, a love interest to 'Jasmine,' played by Joy Bryant on the NBC drama "Parenthood."

    Woodside was included in this year's PEOPLE Magazine's hugely-popular special "Sexiest Man Alive" issue. He also graced the cover of DENIM Magazine.

    Within a month of graduation from The Yale School of Drama, Steven Bochco cast him as a series regular opposite Anthony LaPaglia playing an ambitious lawyer in the courtroom drama "Murder One." He continued working in the television world starring as 'Melvin Franklin' in the highly successful NBC miniseries "The Temptations," earning him enormous critical acclaim. Woodside was also a series regular in CBS's dark comedy "Viva Laughlin," opposite Hugh Jackson and Melanie Griffith.

    He has a line of other credits in the television world from recurring or guest starring roles on shows such as "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "Hellcats" "Hawthorne," "Grey's Anatomy," "CSI," "Private Practice," and "Castle," to name a few.

    He also starred as Delroy Lindo's son and Aaliyah's brother in the Warner Bros. action feature "Romeo Must Die." DB takes great pride in being a member of the ensemble of the highly praised independent feature "Mississippi Damned," opposite some of the finest African-American actors in the business which has earned awards at an enumerable number of film festivals.
