Sober House is a continuance of Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew and Sex Rehab with Dr. Drew in which celebrities with substance and sex addictions transition from a rehabilitation center to a less-structured sober living home in an effort to make the critical transition to new lives free from drugs, alcohol, and obsessive sex.
The sober living house is an interim step on the path to sobriety, where addicts can live in a supervised environment with structure and rules, i.e. mandatory curfews, chores, jobs, and meetings. It's a place where celebrity addicts, most of whom have spent the better part of their lives in the throes of an addiction, will learn to rebuild their lives from the ground up.
Throughout this experience, Dr. Drew and his staff will keep a watchful eye over all that goes on at the Sober House, and the residents will have the opportunity to meet with Dr. Drew in both one-on-one and group therapy to work through their ongoing issues surrounding addiction.
Faced with the pressures and temptations of daily life, many of the celebrities will act out, and some will even relapse as they strive to find the path to a much happier and fulfilling life.
