>> I AM.

>> NERVOUS?

>> BUT IT NEEDS TO HAPPEN.

>> TALKING TO LORAINE,

SHAFFER'S MOM, THE OTHER DAY

REALLY MADE ME REALIZE THAT IT'S

TIME TO MOVE ON.

>> WELL, HELLO.

>> KRISTA, KRISTA.

I'M STILL WEARING HIS RING, AND

I'M PROBABLY NOT GONNA GET OVER

HIM IF I KEEP THE RING ON, SO

THE ONLY WAY WOULD BE TO CHANGE

THE RING INTO SOMETHING ELSE.

>> WE CAN MAKE IT INTO WHATEVER

YOU WANT, OR, YOU KNOW, IF YOU

WANT TO NOT HAVE ANY REMINDERS

OF IT, YOU CAN DO IT...

>> YEAH.

>> BUT OF COURSE, THE KIDS--

YOU KNOW, YOU HAVE SOMETHING

BEAUTIFUL THAT CAME FROM THAT,

SO I THINK IT'S SOMETHING YOU

SHOULD AT LEAST SAVE SO YOU CAN,

YOU KNOW, HAVE.

EITHER MADDY CAN WEAR IT, OR

MASON COULD GIVE IT TO SOMEBODY.

>> I KNOW IT'S GONNA BE A

DIFFICULT DECISION.

I'M SO TORN.

I LOVE MY RING, IT'S AMAZING,

BUT EVERY SINGLE TIME I LOOK AT

IT, I JUST--I'M REMINDED OF THE

LIFE THAT WE HAD TOGETHER AND

THE LIFE THAT WE WERE SUPPOSED

TO BE LIVING NOW, SO IT HAS TO

GO.

>> I MEAN, I REMEMBER DELIVERING

THIS TO HIM IN THE MIDDLE OF THE

NIGHT.

>> AW.

>> I REALLY DO.

IT WAS SO SWEET.

I MEAN, YOU KNOW, HE WAS

TRAVELING SO MUCH AT THE TIME,

AND I GOT LOTS OF DIFFERENT

RINGS IN FOR HIM.

HE PICKED IT OUT, AND THEN WE

REDESIGNED IT.

I SAID, "I KNOW YOU WANT TO MAKE

SOMETHING INCREDIBLE FOR MO."

AND HE WAS GONE SO MUCH.

HE CALLED ME IN THE MIDDLE OF

THE NIGHT, HE SAID, "PLEASE

COME BRING IT TO ME," AND I

WENT OVER TO THE STUDIO.

AND EVERYBODY IN THE WHOLE

STUDIO WAS LIKE--

COULDN'T BELIEVE IT,

AND HE WAS SO PROUD AND HAPPY.

>> I DON'T REMEMBER HEARING THIS

STORY BEFORE, SO IT TOOK ME BY

SURPRISE AND TOTAL--I HAD

FEELINGS AND EMOTIONS THAT CAME

OUT THAT I HAD NO IDEA WERE

STILL THERE.

IT JUST GOT REALLY REAL TO ME.

SORRY.

>> NO, IT'S OKAY.

IT'S OKAY.

>> [sniffles]

[sobs]

>> IT'LL BE OKAY.

>> I KNOW.

>> I WAS TELLING HER SHE CAN

TAKE HER TIME, YOU KNOW.

>> OH.

NO, I NEED TO.

>> THAT I'M PROUD OF HER FOR

MOVING FORWARD.

>> IT'S DEFINITELY TIME.

>> I'M GONNA GIVE YOU GUYS A

COUPLE OF MINUTES TO TALK ABOUT

IT AND SEE WHAT YOU THINK AND

SEE HOW YOU FEEL.

>> WHEN I GOT HERE, I REALLY

WANTED TO CHANGE THE RING INTO

SOMETHING ELSE, BUT AFTER

HEARING KRISTA'S STORY ABOUT

THE RING, I CHANGED MY MIND.

YOU KNOW, SHAFFER AND I HAD A

LOT OF LOVE.

IT WAS MADE WITH LOVE, YOU KNOW.

I DO LIKE THE IDEA OF KEEPING IT

FOR--

>> THE KIDS?

>> YEAH.

THE KIDS, POSSIBLY, YEAH.

YOU KNOW WHAT, I'M GOOD IF I

DON'T WEAR IT ANYMORE, YOU KNOW?

>> OKAY.

>> THAT'S THE FIRST STEP FOR ME.

IT'S JUST--I DON'T KNOW.

I JUST DEFINITELY NEED TO GET A

NEW RIGHT-HAND RING.

>> RIGHT.

>> IT'S TIME.

>> OKAY.

>> I DECIDED TO PUT MY RING IN A

SAFE PLACE.

LITTLE BY LITTLE, I FIND MYSELF

GETTING OVER THE RELATIONSHIP

WITH SHAFFER.

I'M NOT THERE YET, BUT I'M

DEFINITELY ON MY WAY.

>> SO WHAT DID YOU DECIDE?

>> I'M GONNA PUT THIS IN THE

SAFE FOR NOW, AND I'M LIKING THE

IDEA OF--FOR THE KIDS, FOR THE

"M"s.

>> THAT'S GOOD.

>> HONESTLY, I FEEL LIKE A

WEIGHT HAS BEEN LIFTED.

>> GOOD.

>> I DO.

[pop music]

I REALIZED THAT THIS RING IS

A SYMBOL OF A RELATIONSHIP

THAT'S OVER.

AND THIS TRIP TO THE JEWELRY

STORE HELPED ME DECIDE THAT I

NEED TO TAKE IT OFF.
