Jessica, Ken, and CaCee head to the fashion capital of the world!
Jessica is so pretty and Cacee as well.
i want to go to paris so bad! it's beautiful
This show is amazing. I cry and laugh in the span of 20 minutes. I think it does a great job at looking at what people preceive as beauty, and also look at the inner beauty in some parts of the show. Jessica you are fantastic at everything you do.
We truly are seeing "The Price of Beauty" in this show. I really haven't seen those who are "truly" happy with themselves...they are willing to pay a price not matter what the cost. Anorexia nervosa is a psychiatric disorder it goes much deeper than wanting to maintain a thin body for modeling or whatever the case may be...However I do appreciate the model trying to get the word out. Also the woman with the horrid couture dress was very rude to Jessica when she was attempting to come out of her comfort zone and walk the runway...It is a good show and they TRY and promote the message of being happy with who you are but really I have seen the opposite of their message...I would like to see the show tour the United States and go to less known cities and explore beauty and culture within our country...I can't wait for the L.A. show where they go and speak with high school students. It looked very positive and Jess's words were very beautiful (from what I could tell from the excerpts). I enjoy the show and think those three make a wonderful team :)
PART OF BEING A HEALTHY NORMAL HUMAN BEING IS UNDERSTANDING THAT YOU CANNOT BLAME ANYONE FOR BEING OBESE OR ANOREXIC. Stop allowing the media and pop culture to be your holy grail people.
i love this show <3
I have to say although the show lives up to it's name I am really disapointed with the concept of this show and that Jessica who I really like hasn't risen above this honestly plain shallow theme. While I admit the show is entertaining as a travel guide, it's really just masquerading as a show that is looking to identify the meaning of true beauty. In each episode i have seen so far women are just finding what their culture views as beautiful and then working to obtain it, (Japan with the plastic surgery for larger eyes to look like Wester women, Thailand with the desired longer neck (while crushing your shoulders) and Paris that idolizes models which are 98% thinner than most women). What about going beyond the surface pressures that are being depicted as acceptable practice and looking at what really makes women beautiful in these countries or in any country for that matter. What qualities, experiences and traditions make them beautifully unique? Jessica and her friends can travel the whole world and the common thread is always going to be "society makes the rules on beautiful". Real beauty isn't found in any of those countries differences. It isn't found in the physical AT ALL. What about those who have been disfigured, or have special needs or just don't have the features any country deems beautiful. True beauty and ultmately what I think Jesisca is after is really knowing your self worth. That only comes from letting go of any and all standards of beauty imposed by society or yourself and seeing the truth of your real value that is given by God and can not be added to or detracted from. I had hoped this show would in the end uncover that truth and dismiss the idea that beauty comes from any spa treatment, fashion designer or plastic surgery. Instead I think it confirms it and allows the viewer to simply pick their societal pressure! Jessica I hope you do find love and beauty in yourself but unfortunately I don't believe you will ever find it on the road you are traveling now.
Jessica, Ken and CaCee, I think you are wonderful for doing this. I have laughed and cried watching your show. I am so crazy about my weight going up and down and I get very insecure that every one is looking at my stomach. Jessica, you are and always will be beautiful because you are a beautiful person inside and out. All my best to you. Thank you.
I agree to an extent. Your acting like anorexia is something your born with or theres already something wrong with you. As some one who battled the issue i know this to be untrue. It is instilled in you later in life whether it be by family media or peers. This show is wonderful. Its not really a mixed message plain and simple beauty is different everywhere
oh my god my mind just BLUE UP hahahahahah that blue ball dress HAS GOT TO GO and that i can say as an american hahaha
im not hating. im glad she is spreadin the news all women are beautiful... i just noticed tho. i know medical procedures and it looks like she had botox
ok i just noticed.. it looks like she had botox.. like one eye brow is way high and her face aint moving... weird.
Wow Jessica is such an amazing strong women. What's sad is that I've been reading comments that put her down. I think it's a relief to see somebody show younger females that we are truly beautiful inside and out. Regardless of her past I think she has turned over a new leaf and is so very inspiring. Go Jessica!!! Thank you for being so brave :)
love jessica!
That blue balls lady was a *****! I hope this is a ongoing show, I would like to see them travel all over the entire world!
i dig the concept of the show but i think there were one to many mixed messages .... while working within the fashion industry may have triggered her anorexia ... ultimately she already had the disease (and in fact it is probably the disease that drew her to wanting to be a couture model) . the 'facts' highlighted through out aren't put into context (ie: models are thinner than 98% of women....are we only looking at female adult models - cause they already through the 'fact' that most parisian models start as early as 13 - are we holding constant for just europe/north america or are we including asia/africa/south america/ et al which would skew the number considerably). overall i think these ambiguities feed into the concept of beauty that i believe jessica is hoping to decompose.
MAXXFEMM's "don't stop" kicks of this weeks episode of Price of Beauty -available on iTunes worldwide! thnx J simpson ;)
I do like this show - good for you jessica- i cant help but notice the black roots that ken has given jessica and her friend - i hate to be like this but come on you have a traveling hairdresser! and no friend of mine would be ok with black roots!- come on ken! either color them blond or go brunette!
