A brief mention to Rhapsody. Luca Turilli's King of the Nordic Twilight is the greatest power metal album ever recorded. I love Hansi Kursch, but for true power metal vocals there is none better than Olaf Hayer.
Wow that is the 1st and only time I liked the final countdown.
Helloween has my vote, I've got Keys Part II on original vinyl and the 13 min. Epic Halloween

Dragonforce shouldn't be on here. They arn't power metal. They are poser Nintendocore.
Guys, I am a brazillian historician/ethnomusicologist who researches the Rio de Janeiro's suburbian rock scene. it would really help me if I could get some copies of "MEtal Evolution". Is there anyway you can help me? Thanks.
who does the song in that first video in the power metal episode?
i love this power metal
r.i.p ronnie james dio \,,/!!!
I wish they talked about Kamelot. :(
I think Uriah Heep existed before Rainbow. They used the wizards and dragons imagery before Dio. Maybe Dio was the one who influenced everybody but still. It's a little criminal not to mention them.
NIGHTWISH! I can't believe they were in this ep since I didnt see them on his chart. Nice interview footage and good coverage of the genre as a whole. IMO Power Metal is probably one of the more mainstream forms of Metal. And I think its awesome he gave props to Yngwie... many people regard him as a joke but the guy is an innovator
