i don't know if it's only japanese people but not every asian were born without 'double lid'. i think they are only offended because it's modern day where non-asians would refer to oriental by pulling up the sides of their eyes. there are non-asians who also have small eyes and get that kind of surgery (or they don't). it's just unheard of. the japanese lady speaks for some and not all japanese.
