Dr. Drew shares is thoughts on Jason Davis and his co-workers attempts to steer Davis in the correct aftercare plan.
I have been a addict for 15 years. Recovering and sober for 4yrs now. No amount of medical schooling or counseling work for 10, 20 even 30 year's, will ever make you know or fully understand what it is and feel's like to be an addict. School and work can not teach you what it feel's like to live with the monster of addiction. That is why NA is so important. You are with people who have been where you have been, or people who need your help, because you have been in their shoes. For the person who put that putting fake drugs or empty alcohol cans around might help. That is a trigger, and doing that will make people want to use and think about it more. You avoid people, places and things that trigger your addiction. Addicts can be dr's, lawyers and mothers and fathers. They are not just bums on the street who have nothing. Addiction can affect anyone. Take it minute by minute. I can not go back and fix what I have done, nor can I promise u tomorrow. But I cand promise today. Keep strong and make those meetings!!!
Hi, you can check our website www.pillskill.net - Sherrie Rubin
As an addict of perscription drugs, I understand how some of them fill. Watching this show has shown me how I was hurting those near me and hurting myself. I have been in an out-patient rehab for the past year and a half on a medication called Suboxone, seeing a psychologist, and going to meetings to help cope with life. I am glad that I decided to make this choice to become sober, I pray for those who struggle like me.
I've watched celebrity rehab for 2 years now..It is so sad that isolation, loneliness, grief, and or boredom has led many to be addicted to drugs and alcoholism.. Someone who is poor who has had no friends no family only praying to God as a source of support as I have has made me stronger...living in america for 40 years. All these celebrities have some support system... Dr. Drew, why don't you address the real pain that these patients have dealt with to mask it with addiction? I notice most addicts switch to an 'acceptable' substance like caffeine and cigarettes most AA people do this.. Also, Dr. Drew, you should try to show ways to avoid temptations to use, perhaps certain situations and make them want to better themselves. Jason is a proud "rich brat" dealing with frankie. I admire Frankie, in being the only black minority of the group, that she stands up for herself. Being another race, Dr. Drew has its own stressors. You will never understand what it is like being a nonwhite in America.. I do.. Racism is very very real and is still around even more... Putting fake drug and empty alcohol cans or bottles around might help the patients to deal with temptations to use and fight it, also patients can learn to talk themselves to do the right thing. Glad you put this show on TV.
I was very moved by Aaron's story when his parents brought him to meet everyone in this recent episode in the wheelchair. I would love to know more about what his life is like in general on a day to day. Unbelievable impact !
Love the show!!! Go Dr Drew, Bob, Shelly and my Favorite person is Will.
