Casey, Lynn, and Audrina Discuss the NYC Trip and what went wrong.
I am pretty much speechless on this entire series. I NEVER watch shows like this, sans Kardashians, but this is like train wreck, horrifyingly disturbing and impossible to look away from. I think I watch to see if: 1) Is the mother is truly as twisted as she seems; 2) Make sure Casey is okay. It is so obvious noone in this family has gotten any professional help. I think Casey has gotten out alive and started to experience a more real love is like but if you consider the addiction model, the repercussions of growing up with Lynn as a mother would have a lifelong ripple effect. That said, Casey's ability to take the high road with her mother and protect her own children is nothing short of amazing. The father's continual smirking can only mean one thing, he is complete denial and must think his wife is a fine mother and wife. His description is, "Too much estrogen" which suggests he sees all the females as a problem and the insanity has been produced by gender and the hormones associated with the gender. He is completely disassociated and maybe he drinks a fair amount as well but he does nothing to cross his wife or protect his children. Audrina describes him as the "rock that holds the family together" and that is the absolute truth, he is the other adult in the picture that keeps his family sick so the more accurate statement would be, "the rock that holds the family together in a dysfunctional holding pattern". I say the season finale' is an intervention on the entire family: Send the mom to treatment for drugs/alcohol; send the father to be evaluated for drugs/alcohol and put him in treatment; put the youngest in family treatment; Offer Casey the best therapy out there because she is a survivor, no doubt, and although she's making good choices she deserves to recover. Audrina is harder to crack because she is enmeshed in the addiction to celebrity, she has a humility about it so it's not 100% that she would fall apart if all the celebrity went away. The celebrity aspect of her life "seems" (and it's all smoke and mirrors with addiction) to have placed a distance between Audrina and her family. For sure she is in denial regarding her mother's alcoholism and that somehow the treatment of Casey is directly related to personality conflicts and last but not least, her role in the family is "Peacemaker". I think if the family were to get better and Audrina did not get professional help she would be left feeling very disconnected and unappreciated and if she did not have to try to reconcile everyone and everything all the time, she would basically have no place. All of this said, there is something very sweet and innocent and vulnerable about these three girls: Audrina, Casey, and Samantha, and it has nothing to do with how they were parented and everything to do with their integrity and spirit. I actually care what happens to them on more than a superficial level. I think these parents should be ashamed of the people they have become and the reprehensible choices they make regarding, well, just about everything. A special shout out to the mother, Lynn... Lynn, you are a very sick person and if you never get help then you will truly miss out on everything because I imagine you haven't had a genuine feeling in as long as you can remember and being a mother is all about feeling because it is in our feelings that the history of our family is stored. Get help, grow up, and be the mom you are meant to be. Casey, I know women who would be beyond honored and proud to have you as a daughter and although Lynn is your mom, let her voice and her opinion be only one among many other who adore you. My vote for season finale': Dr. Drew and/or Intervention. Now I will go live my own life vs. commenting on the lives of others.
Wow…..What a crazy drunken mess. I love how the Mom commented in a previous article that she “usually doesn’t drink” Every time I see her she has a drink. Or she’s slurring something. I commend Casey for the way she handled her Mom…Very Mature!! The Mom acts like she wants to be the center of attention in every episode she’s in. Audrina acts more like the Mom and the Mom acts like a spoiled brat. How embarrassing!
I am so sorry for you girls... Mom needs the other show with Dr. Drew.. Celebrity Rehab ASAp..!!
