Kelly Clarkson performs a cover of fellow idol winner Carrie Underwood's "I Know You Won't" for VH1 Unplugged.
Carri is technically good in her rendition, but Kelly reaches down into the depth of her soul in her rendition to a place where she has felt every word. I hope Kelly records this song.
Kelly can match Carrie note for note and Carrie does indeed have a strong range and nice clarity, but when she performed this song on iHeart radio, it was a breathless, grunty mess. Kelly has something in spades that Carrie doesn't quite have, and that is soul - and an ability to sing anything, any style, and make it sound great.
she is so good in this sheesh. wish she would put out music like this.. creative, ingenious, beautiful
why doesnt she put out music like this then.. :(
Carrie is effortless. Kelly Just has to Screech to get any where near what Carrie does so easily.the 2 best Idols ever but Carrie is far and away the best!!
Kelly is so much the better singer then Carrie! Kelly kicks Carrie's butt!
Take that, Carrie Underwood.
Awesome!!!
"Awesome...her voice can take you anywere..God bless her so much..
Beautiful Song,Beautiful Performance! Kelly Is Awesome!!!
This is my favorite Carrie Underwood song. Kelly did an amazing job sing this song. I love both Idols.
perhaps there is a better example of CU singing this song than her performance at the Grand Ole Opry, which i just watched. but truly, if this is your idea of clarity -- yes, she has power but her tone is -- harsh; dare I say even ugly. and her emotion does not match that which Clarkson brings. there are things she has done that i like very much. but in no way can she even begin to compare to KC.
In four words: Kelly is the best! :D
I would love to hear Kelly, Adele and Jennifer Hudson perform this as a trio LIVE..... the place would be on FIRE!
Kelly does a great job, but Carrie is simply untouchable. Yes, Kelly can sing in that growl/rasp to good effect, but it gets a little repetitive at times. Carrie sings with such power, clarity, and emotion that no one today can match her overall package. This song shows just how amazing her "Carnival Ride" cd was and should have won all the Best Album awards that year - instead George "Has Been" Strait got a career award over Carrie. Plain wrong. Bravo to Kelly and Carrie.
LOVE Keilly's version of "I Know You Won't"...no other American Idol can sing a song like Kelly does. She sets the standards for all upcoming American Idols!
