sorry should be block the cravings.
Hello my name is Diane and I am a coke addict and alcoholic. I am sober 12 years. I do not think I would know what to do with Steve. Jen does not seem to have a plan, she goes with the moment.Dr. Drew should have been alerted to the situation. I do NOT think two years clean is enough to council others. Some of us do die. Not all make it. Some have to carry the message. Steven needs to be in a facility for at least one year. Possibly a drug to bloke the carving?? What is happening now is NOT WORKING. Please someone care more about Steven then ratings. Please God help Steve!!
Junkies always lie- they will become so enraptured with their lies that they will soon lie about their lies- that's not cynical, it's just real life. http://pedrotheparamedic.blogspot.com
I am super bummed that Steven has relapsed again!I was really hoping he would get clean! I feel bad for all of the others in the house who are trying to recover! It must have been super hard not to go smoke with him or go have a drink because of the stress he put everyone through! Jen I think you are amazing and you are very strong willed to be able to do this!
when are we going to see the full episode? I feel so sorry for people struggling with addiction, but it looks like Steve isn't going to make it through this if he keeps going the way he is.
I've never seen someone on a heroin trip before. I'd always heard that heroin basically made you feel good and go mellow. Neither seemed to apply to Steve. I would think that anyone who sees Steve tripping out would want nothing to do with heroin.
What a bummer. Dr. Drew has created a show that shows how unglamourous drug abuse is, by allowing us into the treatment of celebrities. Then, for the benefit of television he allows a person who breaks the rules perpetually to stay in a home where others are trying to get sober. Why? I submit it is due to ratings. People love to see the train wreck that is Mr. Adler. You have sold out and created a situation where some (not all) of the addicts/egolomaniacs will vie for attention. They will be rewarded for their efforts with face time. Shame and a bummer.
I think Steven and only Steven are to blame for this added drama. He knew they were going to have cameras all over what are the camera people to do, ignore the ass hat who is high on day one? I once cared a lot for Steevn Adler, but he is 40 soemthing years old and needs to grow up.
They had an incredible opportunity with this show to really cature what it is like to battle addiction and it looks to me like they have blown it big time. They have turned it into an afternoon soap opera.
I'm just amazed at how Jen can handle every situation so badly. Don’t addicts relapse all the time? Isn’t the goal to try to get through it smoothly and move on? Jen’s goal seems to be just the opposite, she makes a huge problem out of everything, and she never once tried to help Steve through his relapse. She purposely irritated him by following him around the house until he lashed out at her, then he called the cops on him. It really showed that she has a personal dislike for Steve by calling the police. She had no problem calling Dr. Drew in episode one, so why call the cops this time and not Dr. Drew first? She had several opportunities to diffuse the situation, but chose to make things worse. The house needs someone in charge that has some idea about what she’s doing. Jen is clearly not the right choice for house manager. She is making their recovery harder than it has to be, and because of her incompetence some of them will fail when they otherwise would have succeeded. Dr. Drew needs to step in before it’s too late.
First as someone in recovery Steven" story isn't true. While someone is locked up in rehab your signficant other is instructed to clean out the house. YOU THE ADDICT as a sign of your commitment are supposed to tell them where your stash is. If Steven was serious he would have told someone to get the drugs out of the house before he comes in. Yes you could forget but folks he wasn't there a day and he just happens to run into his stash. Doesn't seem plausible if he is wanting them to help him stay clean. Add that to the fact he doesn't confess to where his stach is in the sober after telling Dr. Drew he wants to get clean. REALLY? He is sitting in this chair telling Dr. Drew he wants to get clean and he knows at the moment he is saying this thedope he will use by the end of the day is back there and looking at how high it is it is a large amount not "just a little bit"
At some point, Dr. Drew should realize that mothering these people doesn't work, hence the abysmally low success rate. These people should be in something resembling a Marine Corps barracks during basic training. That might help.
"She pushed the wrong button, from the first time I met her". Wow. What rotten luck for Jenny. You roll up, high as a kite- because you found dope in your sock, and this incompetent cannot even locate the correct buttons on you. Dude. Throw away every stitch of clothing you own, and snap out of it.
I am very upset with the lack of need to understand your place in this world that comes from these so called celebrities. There are so many people who spend their entire life in extreme pain spending every day just being thankful for the little things that make them feel normal. When I see people so engulfed in there own existence that they cannot see how their behavior not only affects themselves but more importantly the way it affects others interpretations of those who truly spend there lives in pain it just makes me want to beat them upside the head with a baseball bat, because that is the only way you will ever know what true pain is. I have never suffered from addiction, but I have dealt with the reality of chronic pain. And your lack of concern for the reality that too many people deal with every day with only a concern for yourself is for lack of a better word angering to me. You give the poor me statement. Have you ever spent even one day of your life in true extreme pain knowing that it will never end knowing that tomorrow the pain will not only be there but will make it impossible for you live a normal life? No you have never considered that and also knowing that the abuse of medication such as the what is shown in this program will only make you those who truly need the medication suffer more because despite those who are in true and extreme pain's willingness to try anything and suffer through anything you will always be considered a addict or potential addict? No because I get the only person you think of is yourself. Try being someone who does truly suffer. Those are the people who wants to take no medicine. Who never wants to feel high or escape from their problem, but only wants to feel normal and be able to be touched and not cringe from the real pain they feel every day. I do not care what horrible attrocity you, I, or others have suffered in their life. Your need to do drugs has nothing to do with a true medical condition that unfortunately too many people suffer through and you use to your advantage to abuse drugs. Let the people who truly suffer find relief and figure out what your real problem is.
Believerchick, I am so sorry for your loss and couldn't agree with you more... These celebrities don't know how lucky they have it with the best treatment centers available. The average person/addict isn't able to get the help these celebrities get and it's a shame that Steven seems to take it for granted... Although I have compassion for him he really needs to leave the sober house..I just don't see much effort from him and it's sad..He is putting everybody in that house at risk with his behavior.. He needs to leave and get into a very very long term rehab program !!! It might be an eye opener for him if he could watch these episodes....maybe not..
I totally agree with the comments made so far. It's very sad but as a recovering addict myself, I don't find anything funny about his behavior or addiction. If I was Jenn I would have had him out as soon as I suspected he was high again.I would not have waited for things to escalate the way they did. He's to unstable. Its not fair to the ones that are truly there to learn how to live sober.I guess they wanted there ratings but Stevens behavior is putting everyone thats in that house at risk! Steven definately needs a long term rehab program or he will die! Its just that simple.Sadly, even then he may not make it.They really do need more people working there to keep it a safe enviroment. The inviting people over was way to soon. His wife seems totally oblivious to the seriousness of his addiction! To recover is a long grueling road but the rewards are so worth it!!Addiction is a life long disease but addicts can recover and live a long rewarding life.Unfortunately the statistics are stacked against us.I don't think Steven (among others in the house)are serious about recovery! It involves a COMPLETE lifestyle change. No if, ands or butts about it. They just don't get it!!!When they do I hope its not to late.My BEST friend lost her battle with addiction and mental illness. She took her own life last year after losing most everything she held dear. She was an excellent nurse, wonderful loving mother and my dearest friend with a heart the size of Texes. She was only 34 yrs old.Beautiful wife and mother of a 5 yr old daughter. These "famous" people are very lucky to have some of the best addiction and recovery centers available! Alot of addicts never get that chance. It's really heartbreaking.
Does anyone else think that that there should be more people working at the sober house. This poor woman is trying to "run" this place with only the help of this security guard and they are both still so sensitive to others using drugs because they were drug users too. Steven needs a long stay in rehab-- and his wife seemed so unaffected by his behavior? I know its a TV show and they edit it so much, but what is going on!
I find it hard to believe that Dr.Drew fell for steven's BS. Dr. Drew is convincing himself and others that steven is ok and he's gonna jump right back into sobriety. When hearing steven talk i knew steven was full of shyt. Dr.Drew is being to compassionate and letting things slide too much for the ratings.
I don't think Steven is going to make it! He has to start all over again (Detox, etc.) and feel that he is ruining everyone elses hopes and dreams of sobriety. I would not like to see him back!!
i feel so sad for him when he got high he was funny but i did feel sad for him
