the heroin makes steven look mentally retarded :-(
I can so relate to the anger and emotions that are flowing in this video...I am a recovering addict and it is so hard to stay clean then have someone bring it to ur "Safe Place" can really piss u off...then again Y is Steven getting high he has a huge ass demond oin his back and needs more than a 30 day program i had to do a 16month program and it helped me and "Practice" and "KNOW" my red flags and live by the serinity prayer every minute of my life!!!I wish him the best of luck...
Steven been there dude!!! I think it might be time to try some methadone. at least it will keep you from craving dope and let you move on with some kind of normal life. I have been on it for more than 10 years now. I have had a couple slips in all that time and it was with xanax not herion or pills. Dude you still have a chance if you get on the juce if not it wont be long before you see on the news formar drummer Steven Adler has died from a herion overdose. Just look at nikey sixx he over came his demons and there is still a chance for you if you only take it if not, I would say your probably at or at least close to the end of your rope. Lets just hope this is not a trajic ending.
To qwest 21, I am sorry you misunderstood my concern for Steven's wellbeing as symathy. Believe me when I say I do not sympathize with him! Just because I am praying that he gets healing from this disease does not make me an enabler. I have a son who is also a drug addict and has also lived in a sober living environment, here in our state there is no "3 strike rule" and you're out, it is "one and your done"! Telling addicts that they have an open window to use of 3 times before they will be told to leave is absurd, don't you think? I guarantee you tell someone that fresh out of rehab that and that is all they will be thinking about the entire time they are there. That is giving them grace to use once every 10 days during their 30 day stay! That is not "sober living", that is nursing their addiction. You may have been right about medical staff being there offscreen somewhere where Steven couldn't see them, monitoring his behaviour, but we were watching something that was allowed to go on longer than it should have for the sake of entertainment, it could have escalated into something worse but if it had I guarantee we would not have seen it. My comments were for the wellbeing of Steven as well as others in that house, he should have been removed the first day!
I heard somewhere that they were paid $1million each for Rehab and another million for Sober House. I went onto Steven's myspace and there are photo's of him within the last month practicing with his band, so evidently he did not go to long term rehab. He would probably need a good year in secure rehab to kick a 20yr habit. I just hope he can survive and am thankful that he doesn't have kids watching this!
They do it all for money
All this is from smoking Pipe I for aint buying it, Maybe he just got back from taking his dog for a walk? If not he's pretty good actor might be over doing it a little tho. **Is still wondering how much they get paid for this show**
To: patti1970 First don't assume the medical supervision Steven was under was dangerous to him. Just because they didn't stop the tape and explain to you that they were on top of it and why doesn't mean they were not. It is a big leap of faith to think these people were careless with Steven's well being. Especially when they are on the hook for his well-being ON TAPE. I have to address your well-intention prayers for him. Go back to the beginning of the episode and watch as Dr. Drew says "everyone is pulling for you" and Steven soaks it all in knowing he has a big stash of heroin waiting for him at the sober house. Watch it again and realize that he is effectively decieving Dr. Drew in the whole conversation. Steven is in the place he is because people feel sorry for him instead of kicking him the a$$ once in a while and telling him they won't tolerate any more lying. He has people like that in his past who wouldn't but guys like Steven tell them to f*** off when they get pressure not to use. You saw that guy in this episode too. The people he surrounds himself with are enablers and sympathizers (check out his wife's pathetic reactions) and he is now probably hopeless. Think about that before you pour sympathy on this guy. That sympathy is effectively killing him but take comfort in knowing if you EVER would stand between this guy and his addiction you will get a possibly violent reaction (like you saw) so it is better that you didn't.
This is the most disturbing thing i have ever seen. I really thought we were going to watch Steven die. I hope Stephen watches this while he is sober and can see the horrific behavior he displays when he is high. God Bless you Stephen, I hope you can find the strength within to overcome your terrifying disease.
or "monkey on your back" cuz you can't get the monkey off!
they call it chasing the dragon cause it only leads straight to hell!!!!
OMG I agree with trixieburd! Steven could have siezed right there or physically hurt someone and all for what, the sake of reality tv and ratings? I think it was totally mishandled and can't believe Dr. Drew wasn't called first. I was in shock at how long it took to get Steven some help, and even than he didn't need the police, he needed medical attention. I don't think Jen or Will are qualified to handle an emergency of this magnitude, Jen was second guessing everything she did. She has a big heart and you could see she was affected deeply by the decision she made, but she is too emotional and would not be someone I'd put in charge of such a huge responsibility. I am sure her earning the respect of her houseguests now is going to be even more difficult for her. Drug abuse is an ugly disease and kudos to Jen and Will for trying to take it on and give something back to society, but they were obviously not prepared to deal with the enormity of an addict under the influence and are just not experienced enough to handle this kind of situation, it's dangerous and unpredictable. My heart bleeds for Steven and people like him who are plagued by this destructive disease. There is nothing glamorous or attractive in being a drug addict. I guess if anything good can come from what we all witnessed it would be,that maybe some young kid out there watching will remember Steven and think twice before ever deciding to try something that can alter the course of their lives forever. I bet if Steven knew than what he knows now he never would have touched the stuff. God Bless you Steven I will be praying for God to surround you with his love, strength and protection. May God Bless You and Heal You! We are all pulling for you!
Jen, I just wanted you to know that I am 100% behind you and what you are doing. I also can see the struggle you are having with trying to convince others, (Dr. Drew)that this is not acceptable. I have a daughter who is addicted to anything she can get her hands on. I have tried to get her into a sober house myself and either it is too expensive or there are no vacancies. The opportunities that the people have are mind blowing. And I am disgusted by the lack of commitment that they are giving. You did the right thing and I thank you for being who you are. Because without people like you or I we would all lost! Hang in there and know that we support you!
Wow now this is real!!!
This was very painful to see,you never realize what drugs do to someone unless you see it.I think steve never should of went to the Sober house,he is not ready. He needs more rehab where he can be watched all the time,he needs to get clean.I hope he gets the help he needs,it looks like years or drug abuse has done so much to him. What a shame! I will watch and pray that he gets clean so he can move on in his life.
It was painful to watch, but what IRKS me more was that they allowed it to get to that point! They knew several hours earlier and for good tv and reality junkies like us, they allowed Steven to continue to get high. I don't see how anyone of them there were looking out for Steven's best interest nor interested in helping him in his recovery or it wouldn't have gone so far. But who is there to watch if Steven is not on the show anymore? Why do you think they added Mary Cary back on! & Shifty!
THAT WAAS PAINFUL TO SEE YET IT WAS REAL SOBRIETY IS NOT GOING TO JUST COME TO YOU FAMILY YOU HAVE TO PUT SOME WORK IN TO GET IT. PLEASE TAKE THIS AND PASS IT ON IT HAS HELPED ME THREW THE YEARS.(THERE IS NOTHING A DRINK OR DRUG IS GOING TO DO TO FIX ANY PROBLEM OR SITUATION THAT I GO THREW) IT WILL ONLY MAKE THING WORST AND GUESS WHAT THAT PROBLEM OR SITUATON AND OR THING WILL STILL BE THERE WHEN EVER YOU COME DOWN OR SOBER/DRY UP!
