I'm wondering if these celebrities know how lucky they are to have a place like this to detox in. I detoxed in a jail cell on a cement floor without any medication, of course I almost died and had to be taken to the hospital after suffering a stroke 3 days into my detox Carol W.
Dr Drew and his crew are amazing, tough and loving all in one.. I wish everyone courage ODAAT. Im also in recovery and i see myself in everyone from the 1st season to the 2nd. It reality with the pain the laughs the drama the feelings and not wanting to feel everything or anything, but yet you want to feel it all at the same time...It doesnt matter what kind of rehab you are in or been in, because in reality its all in you...to either be clean & sober or not.
I have to agree with Pixiedust616 on her comment on “regular” people working hard on recovery. They actually work harder! I’d like to see any of these celebs stay in a nasty rehab with rodents, bugs, disgusting food, and a staff that is not always as nice as Dr. Drew and his staff! I have seen more than my share of rehabs (for my son) that I didn’t even like walking into for a visit, never mind spending weeks there! Unless you’re rich or a celeb, that is the reality of most rehabs! The cele addicts may be real, but the circumstances aren’t; at least not for most.
I wish Gary would shut the F up. he is annoying and I cant listen to him anymore. I can't wait until they put him in his place.
I have been clean for six years. The story of Steven Adler, I hope when he gets clean Guns and Roses will get their real drummer back. I think that regardless of Steven Adler being on drugs, Slash should give him another chance when he is clean and sober.
I HAVE TO SAY THAT THIS IS THE BEST SHOW ON TV CUZ THIS **** IS REAL! I BELIEVE THAT EVERYONE CAN GET CLEAN IF THEY WANT! I ALSO HAD A VICODIN PROBLEM FOR FIVE YEARS AND DIDNT EVEN REALIZE THATS WHAT IT WAS, UNTIL MY HUSBAND WHO IS A RECOVERING DRUG ADDICT SAID YOUR ADDICTED! THATS WHEN I STOPPED,GOT ON A PROGRAM FOR SIX MONTHS AND HAVENT TOUCH A VIC IN THREE YEARS AND NEVER HAVE THE DESIRE TOO! MY HUSBAND WHO WAS ADDICTED FOR YEARS TO COKE,HEROIN,ALCOHOL,CRACK,POT AND WHATEVER ELSE HE COULD GET HAS NOW BEEN CLEAN AND SOBER FOR OVER TEN YEARS, DID IT ON HIS OWN! JUST ONE DAY HE WOKE UP AND SAID ENOUGH IS ENOUGH I DONT WANT TO LIVE THAT LIFE ANYMORE AND STOPPED. I'VE NEVER IN MY LIFE BEEN SO PROUD OF A PERSON AS I AM OF HIM! THIS IS WHY I KNOW ANYONE CAN GET CLEAN BUT THEY HAVE TO WANT IT FOR THEMSELVES NOT WHAT SOMEONE ELSE WANTS YOU TO DO!!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK DR. DREW YOU ARE TRUELY AN INSPIRATION TO THESE PEOPLE AND HOPE YOU CONTINUE TO DO THESE SHOWS AS MUCH AS NEEDED CUZ WE ALL NOW THAT THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE WHO CAN BENIFIT FROM YOU AND YOUR SHOW!!!! LOVE IT
i have been clean for 14 days.i weaned myself off pain meds after 10 years.so far so good.one thing i am still taking is tramadol,down to three a day from around 20.ive noticed my boyfriend is not nearly as supportive as i thought he would be.dont understand why.
I know what these people are going through....I will have a year clean in 2 days!!! A huge challenge, but it can be done. One day a t a time, stay vigilant, meetings everyday, having a sponsor, doing the steps and getting honest...NA saved my life!!!! I appreciate the show..Thank you. I feel sorry for Gary though...such denial...your recovery is never safe,no guarantees!
the show is so compelling but rodney king's story really touches me. i really hope he comes out of this on top. it would be cool if he used his experience to become a counselor himself to help other addicts. i think he could help a lot of people.
That Gary scares me
I think Dr. Drew is great, but it bothers me to see these celebs that complain about their lavish lifestyles; what about the regular people that made you rich anyway; ever think of throwing a non-celeb in the mix? Or that doesn't interest the public. Regular people struggle too & work just as hard as the celebs. Good luck to turning your lifestyles around. I really love this show, the song by Alter Bridge brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it. I love Dr. Drew, and wish I could get his help for someone in my family. He is such a good person, and so wise. I hope this season is full of success, and I am so eager to see what is will bring. Thank You, Dr. Drew. You inspire me to follow my dreams and become a counselor.

Dr. Drew, the courage and integrity of you and your staff is amazing in dealing with these people. This is going to be an interesting season since the "mix" is quite different, and I do not know how many people will be able to stick with the program. It's good to let the general public see what addiction really is all about, and that there is a real need for good treatment. I'm a little worried about Gary Busey; he seems a bit out of touch!
Dr. Drew CR2 is going to be awesome. Shawn's going to be tough. I watched him out of contol with Randy Spelling. Good to see Jeff again. He needs to lose that girlfriend, that relationship is poison. OMG Gary is on my last nerve. Thanks for all the help you give a very misunderstood disease...........addiction.
