I thought she did call them out a couple times and so did the couples. They and the Dr. said, well at least about Courtney, that she's hiding behind a mask.

It's obvious that the reason Courtney's mom wanted her to marry Doug is because of all the fame and publicity. Now she's excited about the fact that she might get her own tv show. This is a woman who cares more about the glamorous world of show biz a lot more than the well being of her own daughter.

yes it is, and like what was said above it is not aimed at them but only used to get their attention. However you do need to know your clients and what they find confrontational, shes using language most common to them. I've been to couseling on and off for a few years some couselor will curse others wont i personally felt more open and comfortable with the ones that did it showed their level of comfort with me, made things less institutional like, and allowed me to see the real them helping me allow them to see the real me.

Ugh, Courtney's mom has put all over Twitter that people LOVED her on this show so much that she is going to get her own show. Um, all I thought that the whole family was riding the Hott Mess Express. PS. Anyone see Courtney's new face? Couples Therapy must have paid well!

"From my experience in the mental health field (as limited as that is) we were never encouraged to use ""curse words"". While some people may not find that type of language offensive, society as a majority finds that type of language confrontational and violently provoking. Personally, I would never use that type of language or that tone in a professional setting, especially when you are there to help ""heal"" but I guess thats what happens when you go to a TV doctor. "

I would have liked to watch Nik and Shayne make progress, but Nik is a racist. He deserves everything he gets. When Shayne feels like she's had enough, she will cash in and take half of thedirty's money and the rest will go to child support. I seldomly condone this but that website is the most classless, trashiest and racist thing I've seen.

I agree that she should have called them out re: their fakeness. How can a therapist treat someone who is hiding behind a false persona and not facing reality?

If his alcoholism isn't addressed, he'll think it wasn't a big deal and it was a tremendous deal, concerning their marriage. He obviously doesn't get it or he wouldn't be saying things like having a drink on the date. Three weeks? That's not sobriety. Let me see him stay sober for a year.

Is it weird that the therapist curses at them all the time? Do doctors usually curse at patients? Especially when they are trying to model healthy communication patterns seems innaproporaite
