Because you NEVER refer to a child as baggage! If things didn't work out with the other parent, then that's where things are left. "Baggage" has a negative connotation and when referring to someone's child as "baggage" it's like stating that they have extra drama, when that might not always be the case. A child is just that, not some extra irrelevant object hanging off of a person. You're very insensitive.

Why do people with kids, or ex-husbands or wives, child custody issues, child support issues.. NOT consider that baggage? That's BAGGAGE, no matter how you look at it.
