Go ask Alice When he's nine Feet Tall.....Go ASK ALIIICCCEEE!000a
Jack Russel what a high strung guy!
The question wasnt who played the best harmony....it was best guitar tandum(or duo)....Judas Priest-no contest....nobody else is even close....influence-bigger sound-bigger riffs-better performers-best look-versatility.....nobody drives like Priest!!....an ats it.000a000a1-Judas Priest000a2-Megadeth(dave-marty)000a3-Iron Maiden000a4-Thin Lizzy000a5-Aerosmith
the trunkster is really into the roots of metal and for that it makes a good show he fingers the RRHOF, I love it.
I cant wait to see if 'death magnetic' wins biggest comeback. b/c it kicks ass, i must say. surprising to say the least.
1) Jeff Hannenman Kerry King 2) Dave Murray Adrian Smith 3) Glen Tipton KK Downing 4) Matt Tuck Michael "Padge" Paget 5) Angus Young Malcom Young000abtw they should've put slayer on #1 000aMetallica's album is the better comeback album.
European power metal has great duo guitars players too. Helloween, Gamma Ray, Angra, Edguy, Hammerfall, Stormwarrior
Duo guitar for me means power riffs, great harmony between two guitar players. Thin Lizzy, Iron Maiden was great. Judas Priest both guitars are great but don't have harmony. But how about Tesla, Stryper, Night Ranger, KEEL and KISS?
How come nobody ever talks about andy powell & ted turner from wishbone ash.they where the first band ever with twin guitarist
Damn Paul, hard to argue about your choices! Leppard was Clark-Colin tho, not Elliott. I'd have to throw in Schlenker-Jabs from the Scorp's, Hammet-Hetfield, and one of my fav's from the 80's & very good, under-rated guitarists, Frank Hannon & Tommy Skoetch from Tesla. Slash & Izzy are another good choice...
Top 5 Guitar Duo : 000a000a1) Smith/ Murray - Iron Maiden....000a2) Tipton/ Downing - Judas Priest...000a3) Mustaine/ Friedman - Megadeth...000a4) Skolnick/ Peterson - Testament...000a5) Michael & Chris Amott - Arch Enemy....000a000aRunner Up.... King Hanneman - Slayer
When it comes to "guitar duo", I think it have to do with shared solos collaboration than having separate roles of rhythm and lead guitars. Having said that, I also think two lead guitars shouldn't really limited to duo harmonies. 000a000a5. Andy La Roque & Pete Blakk - King Diamond000a4. Chris & Micahel Ammott - Arch Enemy000a3. Brian Robertson & Scott Borhan - Thin Lizzy000a2. Dave Murray & Adrian Smith - Iron Maiden000a1. Glen Tipton & K.K. Downing - Judas Priest
Top 5 dou.5: Downing/Tipton-Judas Priest 4:Vengence/Gates-Avenged Sevenfold 3:Mustaine/Friedman-Megadeth 2:Murray/Smith-Iron Maiden 1-Angus/Malcom-AC/DC.
I would have to put Chris Degarmo and Michael Wilton of Queensryche on that top 5 for a couple reasons. A). Where has QR been since Chris left?? The one album he played and wrote on (Tribe!) was just as great as the ones up to HITNF. Also there were so many comparisons back in the day with QR and IM and JP and alot of the reasons were they were all great dueling guiar attacks.
Sign... Ok that Classic Rock Show. Here We Go. 1. Hetfield/Hammet. 2. Mustaine/Friedman 3. Adrian Smith/ Dave Murry 4. King/Hannemon 5.Slash/Izzy
No Jason Becker/Marty Friedman?
Dave Mustaine/Chris Poland/Marty Friedman, Gary Rossington/Allen Collins, Eric Peterson/Alex Skolnick, Gary Holt/Rick Hunolt, Hetfield/Hammett
