1. Chuck Schuldiner 2. Tony Iommi 3. Dave Mustaine 4. Alex Skolnik 5. Randy Rhodes
TheToolman625 Yes Eric you do have a point. This is a somewhat complex question depending on how you would or should critique lets say the top 20 famous guitarist in all music history. Honestly it is somewhat of a subjective question depending what types of music and what bands you really like for whatever the reason.

Where's mention of Adrian Smith, Dave Murray?? Jason's so charming...love it.
Oh yeah, Jim and Don are annoying. Thanks.
I'm sorry, but Dimebag? Dimebag!?! Really?!? The debate can (and will) go on long after i'm gone, but that entry is a real stretch for the top 5. Tragic story, and he was probably a nice guy, but no. Of the sample they chose from, Michael Schenker was an egregious omission from the 5, i'll just say that. An aside, but why are so many guitarists names misspelled on this forum? Strange.
I watched your recent show twice with amazement which had a top 5 guitarists list.I cant believe you had Jason Bonham, son of the late, great John Bonham without a mention of Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page! Of course, where would hard rock be without Jimi Hendrix? Were Eddie and his co-hosts born yesterday?
I freaking loved this episode! It had alot to do with my favorite genre of metal : Glam Metal
Guitarist of all times: Tonny, Ace, Dime-bag, Oz Fox - the most under rated guitarist, Steve Vai, Eddie and a hole lot of others
they left out jimmy page on guitarists? not really heavy metal but who didnt he inspire on that list? the wizard is number one
