As far as I know there was a shooting at a school in California in the 80's where several children were shot some killed. The shooter was a young lady in her late teens maybe early twenties and when asked why she did this she said " I don't like Mondays". If anybody else knows a more accurate version by all means let us know because I'm not 100% sure. Kim I hope this doesn't ruin the song for you.
I never heard of the story behing the video I just liked the song it came out when I was like 12. Can some one please tell me more? Thanks
this is fuked up....why is it gone??
king...i love this song...hate the reason behind it....
please help me...does he look like Seinfeild with a mullet?
this was at a time when people refused to admit children had problems and could do such horrible things. It wasn't until Columbine that people started waking up. I wonder what would have happened and how many school shootings could have been prevented if songs like this weren't banned
Funny how many songs from this era had upbeat catchy tunes with dark and tragic lyrics. Enola Gay by OMD is another i enjoy.
Gosh awful video and a great song. The story behind the song is tragic and led to the song being banned on most radio stations and for that matter MTV. That did not stop me from listening to it or the Rats in general, one of my favorite "new wave" groups ever.
I agree with twedge313 sad story. Utube has a version of this song with Bon Jovi.
Awesome song. Sad story behind it. I wish more people could hear this song
