The feds and police acted like savages, while the feds were shipping in the cocaine by the ton. That didn't mean it was either right, or smart, for black people to act like savages -- especially in the stupid, undirected and random way they did, victimizing themselves and others who were just trying to make a living. At the time this broke out, I (then, a student in Chicago ) was having my first date with a classmate who happened to be fresh from S. Korea. I found myself embarrassed and ashamed, and felt a need to explain that most black people don't hate Koreans. What a welcome to America and to black culture. 000a000a I think the doc portrays the hate motivating some of these people, but it's a shame this video doesn't do more to illustrate the stupidity and self-destructiveness, and how antithetical this was to the course of action pursued by the Black Panthers and others.
Wow! The ignorance, entitlement, and obvious lack of social awareness of those interviewed in this documentary is appalling. Henry Watson and his refusal to show regret for his actions is particularly despicable. I'll have a hard time regaining any respect for Ice-T and Ice-Cube again

THE POICE WERE JUSTIFIED. THESE THUG CRIMINALS WERE NOT. PERIOD.
This was a sad situation. Yes this was sad but blacks did all that fighting because the police were wrong and now we killing each other like there is no tomorrow. Why can't we come together now does it always have to be that police or a white have to do something to us for us to want to fight. We as black people constantly but each other down not caring about each other at all.
Definitely Tragic. No Justice..No Peace.. and then the crowd showed no restraint just like the police at that time didn't. Most definitely a sad time in history.
Does anyone remember the Black Panthers? They were a group of people trying to protect and make a statement at the same time. The Black Panthers were the one's in Oakland carrying arms and started a community group to feed the children before school and protected their families from the cops.
It was so wrong. It's not black or white.. it's right or wrong.
I hope your being sarcastic bcuz if you know your history or actually watched the video you would know that the police were not brought to justice.
These people are criminals and need to be brought to justice, just as the police were.
