What Do Mary-Kate and Ashley Really Think About the Full House Reboot?

Double, Double starting Full House trouble.

All was well in the world when John Stamos confirmed Netflix’s Full House reboot on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in April — that is until Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen claimed they didn’t know about the news and pissed Stamos off. Are they just avoiding involvement in the show?

The Gossip Table reports that it is “very unlikely” the Olsens will reprise their shared role as Michelle Tanner, and that the show will mostly focus on Candace Cameron-Bure’s character D.J, Jodie Sweetin’s Stephanie, and Andrea Barber’s Kimmy Gibbler.

It would be surprising if they would want to join the cast, seeing as how they’re involvement got off to a rocky start. After Stamos revealed the big news, the twins claimed they knew nothing about it in an interview with Women’s Wear Daily. “We just found out about it, I guess we’re going to talk to the creators and see what’s happening,” they said. “I ran into Bob [Saget] the other day and we didn’t even talk about it,” added Ashley, and Mary-Kate added: “I’m shocked I haven’t heard from John [Stamos].”

This prompted Stamos to respond on Twitter, saying they were full of it.

And on Wednesday this week, he posted the following, letting us know they all kissed and made up.

Although all is well for now, it is still unclear whether the twins will have a say in whether they’ll join if they even want to. WWMTD (What Would Michelle Tanner Do)? Join the cast?

Agreed.

UPDATE: 5/26/15 11:00 AM

Executive producer Robert L. Boyett confirmed the twins will not return for the Netflix revival in a statement.

Although Ashley and Mary-Kate will not be a part of Fuller House, I know how much Full House has meant to them and they are still very much considered family. It has been exciting to see how they have built their professional careers, and I support their choice to focus on their fashion brands and various business endeavors. I appreciate their support and good wishes towards Fuller House.

Pizza is bae. And yes, I still say bae.
