Meet The Gossip Game’s Self-Proclaimed Rapper Whisperer, JasFly

The streets are talking. The Gossip Game premieres Monday, April 1st at 9pm ET/PT, and since you’ve already become acquainted with established cast members like Kim Osorio and K. Foxx over the last few days, it’s now time to turn to one of our up-and-comers: JasFly.

A freelance writer covering the hip hop beat for a little under two years, JasFly is still trying to gain credibility in the industry’s cut-throat landscape. But don’t you dare pity this underdog; quick-witted, confident, and strategic, Jas has been blogging since 2007 and already had nine years of life experiences under her belt working in television and film before she fully transitioned into writing.

After hustling her way into artists’ circles over the last year plus, Jas now has a podcast featuring producer Just Blaze, works with artists on their brand marketing campaigns, and pens freelance stories to make her living. But according to the Chicago-born writer, it’s her gift of disarming rappers and treating them like normal human beings that makes her storytelling copy unique. Keep reading to watch her full interview.

Where, exactly, did the “The Rapper Whisperer” nickname come from? In the clip below, Jas explains its derivation, and also shares her thoughts on why so many people have a natural inclination to gossip.

Tune in next Monday, April 1st at 9pm ET/PT to catch the premiere of The Gossip Game!
