From Erica blowing up at Momma Dee and Scrappy on Love & Hip Hop Atlanta to the series premiere of Model Employee, this past week summed up everything we love about VH1. There was trouble in paradise, models battling it out in the kitchen, and even some family fun to be had, but which show still has you talking?
Check out our top picks below, and let us know your favorite moment from the week that was.
I’m Married To A…: Will Alex’s Mom Accept Her?
Alex’s mother has been in denial about Alex’s sexuality since she was a teenage. Now that she’s happily engaged to Gemma, Alex feels it’s time to tell her mother about the relationship, hoping she’ll finally accept her for who she is. It was heartbreaking to watch Alex tell Gemma that her mother has basically disowned her because of her sexuality. At one time or another every child hasn’t seen eye-to-eye with his or her parent, and this scene helps bring that to light.
Love & Hip Hop Atlanta: Erica Punches Scrappy
It was only a matter of time before the tension brewing between Momma Dee and Erica boiled over. What was set out to be a nice family dinner with Scrappy, Momma Dee, Erica, and Mignon quickly turns into an all-out brawl. When Erica feels that Scrappy isn’t defending her in front of his family, she takes matters into her own hands in order to receive the respect she (thinks she) deserves. The chaos that ensued leaves Scrappy stuck in the middle, and an inevitable battle that’s just plain crazy to watch.
T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle: Shekinah Gives Hair Therapy
Everyone knows Shekinah as Tiny’s hairstylist, but Shekinah feels the time has come to take her career to the next level. By attending the Bronner Bros. Hair Show, Shekinah hopes to gain more exposure to increase her clientele. In addition to styling at her booth, Shekinah decides to offer “hair therapy,” where she gave women opinionated tips on their hair coloring and overall look. As we saw with “street therapy” last season, you never know what will come out of her mouth, making this kind of session equally hilarious.
The Gossip Game: Angela Interrogates Sharon and Garland
Last week the girls learned that Sharon has been sleeping with her ex-boyfriend, Garland, and has even considered hiring him as her manager. When Sharon and Garland go on a double date with Angela and Marlon, things become heated as Ang questions Garland about his true feelings for Sharon. Watching this scene, you begin to feel uncomfortable for the maybe-happy couple yet happy that Angela is doing her journalistic duty and putting them in the hot seat. Will Garland pass the test?
Off Pitch: Rob Takes The Stage
Although Rob loves directing Grand River Singers, it’s very obvious he misses being on stage (and in the spotlight). When one of the group members isn’t able to perform at Applefest, Rob is more than willing to step in, learn the routine, and perform. It didn’t take us long to realize that Rob is a character in a league of his own, and it was heartwarming to watch him give it his all on stage, doing what he loves. But will he be able to keep this up multiple times a week?
Model Employee: Can The Models Handy The Dirty Jobs?
Becoming the face of Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino won’t be easy, and on the series premiere of Model Employee, the contestants are completely stunned to learn this won’t be a “typical” modeling gig, nor will they simply be judged on their beauty and ability to walk in sky-high heels. Their first task requires them to clear tables after a banquet, and within seconds literally lifting fingers, complaints come rolling in. More please!
Were you shocked by what happened between Erica, Scrappy and Momma Dee? Were you impressed with Rob’s performance or how the models handled the dirty job? Let us know which moment was your favorite from the week, below.
