Mr. Couture is an employee of Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Cynthia Bailey, an entrepreneur with his own branding and social media company The Couture Firm and a full fledged Twitter personality in his own right. With nearly 30,000 followers on Twitter, Mr. Couture (real name: Carlton Morton) is building an empire for himself talking, tweeting and living reality television.
We at the VH1 blog can’t get enough of his TV commentary from Love & Hip Hop Atlanta to Basketball Wives LA, he’s covering them all with wit and humor. We caught up with the bonafide Twitter celeb to get his thoughts on the new season of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta, why Basketball Wives LA’s Jackie Christie is buying fans and what the reality landscape is like out there in Atlanta.
[Photos: via Carlton Morton/Instagram]On Mimi Faust and Nikko London’s Sex Tape:
“I didn’t believe it at first. I’ve met Mimi before and she’s really sweet. I never [would have] thought sex tape, ever.
The first thing I thought about was her daughter then I thought, ‘did he get her drunk for this?” I still couldn’t believe it but I don’t know, she’s grown. Maybe she felt like it was something she always wanted to do. Like it was on her bucket list or something.”
On Whether It Was Actually Leaked:
“I felt like they had to know it was going to be leaked or something. They had different angles. If he had been holding the camera, or she was holding the camera or it was propped up somewhere the whole time – I would have believed it but no they definitely had some plans for it. [Mimi] had to know.”
On Stevie J and Joseline’s Marriage:
“I still don’t feel like it’s real. I think Stevie’s a smart guy – I just don’t know if he would marry Joseline. I do think that she’s loyal to him and only him. When we were first introduced to them, she kind of seemed like she was separate from him and she kind of had her way. Throughout the seasons she’s become more like the wife type to him because she’s calmer and she kind of lets him run things now.She definitely let’s out when she feels played but not as much as she used to.”
On Rasheeda and Kirk’s Baby Drama:
“I didn’t like that Kirk did that paternity test on national TV. I feel like [Karter’s] gonna have to live with that for the rest of his life. I didn’t feel like that was a good look. I really don’t think that Kirk is that guy and I just feel like it’s how he’s portrayed on TV and he doesn’t even realize it.”
“I follow Althea on Instagram and their relationship seems interesting. Benzino seems like a player-type dude and at his age you don’t think he’s going to settle down. Especially settle down with this obviously younger girl, who is beautiful. He definitely seems like he loves her and she loves him and he got a tattoo of her or for her for her birthday. It definitely seems serious.”
On Watching T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle:
“I like that show! They’re like the Cosbys. T.I. is the coolest dad and King and Major are hilarious. I feel like Major could have his own show on Nickelodeon.”
On Who He’d Adopt
“If I was going to adopt one it would probably be Major because he’s just so cool and he just goes with the flow. He’s that little kid you don’t have to correct or put on punishment many times because he’s just so smart and very intelligent.”
On His Most Epic Twitter Interaction To Date
“My most memorable Twitter interaction [had] to be with Imani Showalter from Basketball Wives LA. I was doing my regular commentary during season 1 and this lady tweets me and says, ‘You’re so hilarious, you should host our reunion show.’ I was like, who is this playing and then I look at her picture and I said, ‘She’s on my TV right now.’
We kept in touch and like two weeks later she signed with my social media firm and then I met her two months later in LA and she picked me up at the airport and I stayed with her and went as a guest with her to the reunion show.”
On What The Reality Scene Is Like In Atlanta
“The funny thing is if you’re ever in Atlanta you’ll just see all these people walking around. All you have to do is go to an event and you’ll see someone. [There is some competition] amongst the casts. I think the highest esteemed, with the cleanest fan bases and the most luxurious brands, are The Real Housewives of Atlanta then I would say the Atlanta Exes girls that are coming or they could take the number one spot then probably Love & Hip Hop Atlanta.”
On Who Has Thrown Him the Most Shade On Twitter
“Jackie Christie lurks my Twitter page every Monday night and Tuesday morning. She has favorited Tweets from my page. One day I tweeted at her and said, ‘I’m glad you enjoyed the show commentary from my page. It’s so weird because you don’t even follow me. [Laughs] Jackie doesn’t even have a bunch of fans. She purchased her Twitter followers. She’s delusional.”
