A 10-Year-Old with Down Syndrome's Reaction to Making Her Cheerleading Team Will Warm Your Heart

Hopefully you're comfortable crying in front of your co-workers.

One Louisiana mom is inspiring the world with just a simple Facebook post. Earlier this month, Renee Parker shared a video of her 10-year-old daughter Lacey, who has Down syndrome, finding out that she made North DeSoto Middle School's cheerleading team. Her reaction is priceless.

"Can't even put into words how excited she is!!!! I am the proud mom of an NDMS cheerleader!!!" reads Renee's caption. Posted on May 1, the video currently has close to four million views, and has prompted responses from complete strangers ("Even though I don't know her, I'm so proud of her!!!!").

Most inspiring of all is the fact that doctors did not expect Lacey to live past 10 days of being born. “Down syndrome is a label, it’s not who she is," her mother tells local NBC affiliate KSLA. "She’s an amazing little girl who strives to do whatever she wants to do.” Pass along to spread the love.
