Ariana Grande is so high up in the superstar stratosphere that sometimes it’s hard to remember she’s human just like us—except with truly insane pipes. So to help you remember, we’ve dug up this fantastic throwback clip from her 2010 appearance on the MTV Cribs-like series, Cambio Goes Home With… Best known at the time as Cat Valentine on Nickelodeon’s Victorious, the episode is a revealing look at a young diva on the rise.
After a quick lunch at L.A. hot spot Toast, Cabrio takes us back to Ariana’s house for the VIP tour. Spoiler alert: her pad is over a century old and used to belong to legendary filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola. So this ain’t your average Hollywood McMansion! Once inside, we get to see her puppy, her awards, and her gazillion shoes. The fact that she’s never been in her own swimming pool (“There’s no time!”) kind of bums us out, but her cupcake apron from Anthropology cheers us back up again.
The highlight comes when she shows off her home studio, providing the perfect opportunity to fire up her fabulous voice and shoot for those whistle tones. Even at this early point in her career, her vocal range is stunning. Watch the clip to see for yourself!
