Paul McCartney will headline about a month after headlining Firefly Festival in June. Sam Smith and Florence + The Machine are also booked as headliners, and to the delight of many fans, so is Metallica. The last time the band played at Lollapalooza was in 1996, according to USA Today, and after 19 years, they're returning as one of the festival's biggest acts.
Rumors of Metallica headlining the festival swirled in the hours leading up to the official announcement, and many are pleased to see that they've been confirmed. Check out some of Twitter's reactions to Metallica headlining, and sound off about it in the comments section.

Really hope the rumor is true and I get to hear "Hero of the Day" by @Metallica at @lollapalooza this summer — ferro_man (@ferro_man) March 24, 2015
Dream lineup for @lollapalooza Metallica, jack white, daft punk, bjork, royal blood, arctic monkeys, anything with Maynard James Kennan.

Lineup isn't even out, but I've got 3 Day passes to @lollapalooza. I'm guessing its Metallica, Sam Smith, and Jesus as headliners.
