Zac Efron's New Movie Is Actually 'Magic Mike' with Less Nudity

Not that we're complaining.

You probably assume Chocolate City is the closest thing to beloved stripper classic Magic Mike hitting theaters this summer, but that's too obvious. This week we got the first peek at Zac Efron's We Are Your Friends, and it turns out this movie is actually closer to the 2012 film. Yes, you can swap a stripper for a DJ and still make cinematic magic.

In the film, Efron plays Cole, an aspiring DJ trying to make it in the harsh reality of post-grad life. After watching the trailer, it's clear We Are Your Friends and Magic Mike are the same movie — from the handsome leading man to the gritty urban streets that crush our hero's dreams. Behold the photographic evidence.

A warm locale will turn you on before any sort of plot even begins.

We Are Your Friends takes place in sunny Los Angeles.

While Magic Mike is set in Tampa, Florida.

Both films have leading men who possess the skills to make the ladies scream.

Cole is an EDM beast whose music makes girls take their clothes off and dance.

Mike (Channing Tatum) is the most famous male stripper his city has ever seen. (Yes, it's Tampa, but...) He also makes girls take their clothes off and dance.

The warm climate means lots of hot people wear very little clothing.

Beats and bikinis.

Oh, the struggles of beach life.

Their lifestyles embody the dreams of any 20 or 30something single dude.

AKA raging parties for Cole.

And girls on girls on girls for Mike.

Still, they want more out of life.

Cole just wants to find his sound and make it big.

Mike would rather make furniture than take his clothes off for a living.

They take random side jobs for extra cash.

Riding the ladder to success.

There's always construction work somewhere.

Their bulging, glistening muscles are always on display.

Thanks to all that time spinning records and/or stripping and ladder-climbing.

They only work in cash.

Which means stray dollar bills EVERYWHERE.

Literally, everywhere.

There's a sketchy business partner lurking in the background.

Just when we were starting to have fun.

Don't do it, Kid!

Financial problems are a bitch.

Being a DJ is not always glamorous.

Mike is hustling hard for a better life. (We feel that.)

The hot love interest comes in and plays hard to get.

Sophie (Emily Ratajkowski) plays coy with Cole by questioning his DJ skills.

Brooke (Cody Horn) is not into Mike's stripper life. She has priorities like being a nurse and exercising 24/7 resting bitch face.

Their crews are on point.

To be expected.

Basically this is going to be the hottest summer of all time.

Like, the world will be on fire.

For the Efron clan, hotness runs in the family.
