I Think the Caitlyn Jenner Halloween Costume Is in Terrible Taste, But Does the Internet Agree?

Part of me wondered if I was being oversensitive for thinking the "Unisex Call Me Caitlyn Costume" is fucked up. Considering, of course, that we dress up as famous figures all the time, and unless you're a blatant asshole about it, people don't think twice. But then I look at it again, and see that the site Whole Sale Halloween Costumes shows a dude modeling in it-with the obnoxious, pageant girl addition-and I realize I'm justified in thinking this is completely insulting.

Then, seeing Buy Costumes' "Call Me Caitlyn Mr. Olympian Costume Kit" (which has since been removed) had what it takes to put me over the edge.

I was sitting here, wondering if it was just me who wanted to throw something across the room after seeing these were actually created. But then, as you can guess, I saw most people were furious.

Of course, there are those who know so much chill, it legitimately concerns me that they walk among us.

Still, let it be known. If you're planning on actually wearing this for Halloween this year, you have a 1,000% chance of getting punched in the face. Looks like I wasn't alone in thinking these were pretty much gross, after all.

Anytime Costumes has the "Unisex Miss-ter Olympic Wig" accessory for the costume on its site.

Here's the description: “Be an advocate for the liberal agenda in this Unisex Miss-ter Olympic Wig! If you can’t identify as a male, throw on this brunet wig that offers a modern style and straight cut. Complete your costume by ordering a medal that shows what used to be of the infamous Bruce Jenner.”

In light of the overwhelming negative response, the company posted the following statement on Facebook.
