Ed Sheeran and Ben Kweller Covering "Stand By Me" Will Give You All of the Feels
If there were only two dudes in the world who could make you feel warm, safe, and comforted in just five minutes, they were Ed Sheeran and Ben Kweller.
The pair gave a special performance in honor of the late Ben E. King earlier this week while playing a concert in Salt Lake City. "You all know the words to this. You will sing it, you will clap, you will dance, this will be fun," Ed told the crowd. He and tour opener Ben started playing "Stand By Me," and as this song tends to do, it had the whole crowd clapping and singing along with it.
Throughout the song, Ed and Ben took turns playing the guitar while the other sang the lyrics. Towards the end, the duo broke into Sean Kingston's "Beautiful Girls" for a brief mashup. It wasn't a perfect performance, but it was perfectly Ed and Ben — no fanfare, just two guys and their guitars making a big venue feel intimate.
