Do you think the people in #BlackLivesMatter should be viewed as a hate group? That’s exactly what Fox & Friends host Elisabeth Hasselbeck wanted to find out Monday when she asked Black Sphere Executive Director Kevin Jackson about the controversial—but what many people consider necessary—movement.
According to E! Online, Kevin joined Elisabeth and her co-host as they went over an incident at the Minnesota state fair where activists shouted “Pigs in a blanket/Fry them like bacon” repeatedly. Plus, the group discussed Shannon J. Miles, a black woman who allegedly shot Texas Deputy Darren Goforth and killed him. These two events prompted Elisabeth to ask Kevin point-blank, “Why has the #BlackLivesMatter movement not been classified yet as a hate group? I mean, how much more has to go in this direction before someone actually labels it as such?”
Kevin, who E! reports is conservative, replied, “Well, they should do it, but unfortunately it’s being financed by the leftists. Ironically it’s people who have nothing, really no concern at all about black lives.” He also called the movement a “stain on the nation.”
Rosie O’Donnell, who clashed with Elisabeth repeatedly when they co-hosted The View together, thought the question was out of line. Here is what she tweeted Monday:
