Jon Stewart won big at 2015 Emmy Awards tonight, taking home the nod for Outstanding Variety Talk Series (The Daily Show). His speech was funny as hell. However, it made us a little concerned for him, tbh. Life after television seems to be treating Jon, erm, strangely. Everything okay, J? We’re just checking in.
“I’ve been off of television for six or seven weeks, this is the first applause I’ve heard,” he said during the speech.
He also gave the Emmys audience some sound advice: “To everybody on television, I just want to tell you…cling to it as long as you can! Like death.”
And why should they, do you ask? The free food, known as craft service. “Out in the world, there are tables with food, but you can’t take it. It costs money,” he said. Tragic.
We understand that struggle, J. But take pride in knowing you will never be replaced or forgotten on television! We do think you should pick up a hobby, though. There are other better things out there besides television. (Like, um…radio?!)
