The Last Tweets From These Late Musicians Are Haunting Reminders Of Their Final Thoughts

R.I.P.

Losing your favorite musician to death is the worst thing for a fan to endure. One minute, you’re reading their funny or inspirational messages on social media—maybe even retweeting or favoriting them—and the next thing you know, they’re gone.

Looking back at their last social media posts can be an eye-opening look into their mind-set before they died. Whether they’re good, bad, sad or angry, there’s always something to be learned.

Here’s a collection of late musicians’ final tweets. Let’s see what we find.

  • Amy Winehouse

Just a couple of days before she passed, Amy posted a very odd tweet. Since it didn’t make such sense, there were rumors that she could have been intoxicated at the time. On July 23, 2011, she passed away from alcohol poisoning.

  • Heavy D

The “Overweight Lover” himself posted a meaningful tweet about inspiration before dying on November 8, 2011.

Mindy’s last tweet expressed a mix of anxiety and optimism. On February 17, 2013, just over a month after the death of her boyfriend, she fatally shot herself on her porch.

  • Dolla

Dolla’s last tweets were also his first. It turns out the rapper tweeted for the very first time just a couple hours before being murdered on May 18, 2009.

The rocker’s final post on Twitter was a promotional one. He passed mere hours after posting it. On November 1, 2014, he died from a mix of alcohol and prescription drugs.

  • Chinx

The French Montana-affiliated rapper was gunned down on May 17, 2015. Before losing his life, he posted a series of tweets. One gave a song of his a shot out, another was of an Instagram photo. But the most interesting one was a retweet of quote about love and pain.

  • Steez

The Pro Era rapper and close friend to fellow MC Joey BadA$$, Steez is rumored to have killed himself due to his last tweet—which he posted the same day he died, Christmas Eve 2012.
