Looks like Blake Lively won’t be the next Gwyneth Paltrow after all.
The Age of Adaline star announced this week she is shutting down her GOOP-esque lifestyle website Preserve on October 9. Even more depressing, she admits the entire thing was a quasi-failure.
“It’s not making a difference in people’s lives, whether superficially or in a meaningful way,” she told Vogue. “I’m going to take this hit, and the only way I can prove all the negative reactions wrong is to come back with a plan that will rock people.”
We appreciate Blake’s honesty, but we can’t say we’re surprised. What normal human can afford a $495 pair of jeans or even wants to read about them? Plus, all of her posts about the Antebellum South were ridiculous and low-key offensive. (Remember that one about the damn muffins?)
But we’re sure Blake meant no harm by her hilariously out-of-touch website. Now that it’s done, though, we have a burning hot question: Can she be Serena van der Woodsen again? Yes, we know Gossip Girl is over and she has projects in the pipeline, but we vote she drops all of that and heads to the Upper East Side again. We’re in desperate need of the glam.
You don’t even have to film anything, B. Just head to 5th Avenue and pretend to be Serena.
Don’t you miss her hair?
And just her natural aura?
Long live Serena, to be honest. (Oh, and R.I.P. Preserve.)
