Adele Confirms That A "Make-Up Record" Is Officially On The Way

New single premieres next Friday. Let's do this, people.

It's been three years way too long since we last heard from Adele. The singer caused a flurry when she gave us a taste of what might be a new song from her impending album this past weekend, and early this morning, she revealed that an album is indeed on the way, and no, it's not a breakup record. On the contrary, it's a "make-up record."

Adele posted a message to Facebook this morning in which she apologized for the wait. She also explained that for the better part of her life, she had been in a rush to grow up, constantly in a state of wishing she were doing things differently and being a different person. But wish to be different she no longer will.

"My last record was a break-up record," she wrote, "and if I had to label this one I would call it a make-up record. I'm making up with myself." She concluded: "25 is about getting to know who I've become without realizing. And I'm sorry it took so long, but you know, life happened." You can read the full post here:

It's unclear still what 25's release date will be, but it seems as though you won't have to wait too long to hear music from it. Adele will be premiering the first single from 25 on Friday, October 30 via BBC Radio 1. Just in time for Halloweekend.

Stay tuned for more information on the album, and catch Adele next week on BBC Radio 1. We'll leave this here for your viewing.

UPDATE: 10/22 12:30 PM

Adele has announced via Facebook that 25 will come out on November 20. Let the countdown begin.
