Hozier Takes Home The VH1 Artist Of The Year Award At The Big Music In 2015: You Oughta Know Concert

He took us to church.

2015 was an incredible year for music, and we were beyond pumped to welcome some of its best acts to our Big Music In 2015: You Oughta Know concert in New York City Thursday night. Everyone from Elle King to Rachel Platten and X Ambassadors crushed it, and (to be honest) we're still recovering.

But there can only be one VH1 Artist Of The Year. Fans voted between queen Tori Kelly, James Bay and "Take Me to Church" crooner Hozier for the title. It was a tough race, but—drum roll please!—Hozier (and his flowing locks) took home the award.

"Thank you so much to the fans who were obviously voting," Hozier said during his speech. "They surprise me, and they overwhelm me every day." He also went on to thank his label, manager and agent.

If you haven't been keeping track of Hozier's year, the Irish singer snagged a Grammy nomination for "Take Me to Church," which hit No.2 on the Billboard Hot 100. He also scooped up two Billboard Music Awards earlier this year. Killin' the game!

Congrats, Hozier! Now, watch his life-giving performance of "Take Me to Church" from last night's concert below.
