These Black Teens Were Kicked Out of an Apple Store Because an Employee Was Afraid They'd "Steal Something"

Because racial profiling still exists in 2015...

Just when we thought we were making progress, whack-as-hell nonsense like this goes down and sets everything back (what feels like) 50 years.

Several African students were denied entry into a Melbourne, Australia Apple store because an employee was afraid they "might steal something." We wish we were making this up. One of the students caught this horrendous incident on camera, and it has since gone viral, according to Complex.

"We're just a bit worried about your presence in our store," you hear the Apple employee say. "... We're just worried you might steal something."

But the students didn't take this blatant racism lying down. When asked why the Apple store worker was afraid they'd take something, he simply responded, “Guys, end of discussion. I need to ask you to leave our store.” What. The. Hell?

The Apple store in question quickly changed its tune. Complex reports the president of Maribyrnong College took the students back to the store to get to the bottom of everything. But the store manager greeted them warmly and said they were "welcome any time." Hmmm. Suspicious.

The students are taking the high road, though. One took to Facebook and said he isn't faulting Apple for what went down. “It was just one employee, and we shouldn’t blame the [whole] company just for one employee’s mistake," he wrote.

It's still despicable this happened in the first place. Let us know what you think in the comments below.
