TMS Time Trip: Rob Halford Talks British Steel and the Wide World of Headbangers

The Judas Priest giant opens up about the classic LP and his love of metal fans.

Today’s plunder of That Metal Show’s video vaults unearths a cool Season 3 clip of Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford sounding off on the 1980 metal masterpiece, British Steel.

Rob kicks off by paying TMS co-hosts Eddie Trunk, Jim Florentine, and Don Jamieson the highest compliment by declaring, “This is the best show on TV for metal! The only show on TV for metal!”

The conversation then turns to the 30th anniversary celebration of British Steel, as Rob talks about the time trip of playing the album top-to-bottom in concert, Judas Priest’s deep connection to the Beatles, and, most importantly, his love for and connection to the community of headbanging music fans worldwide.

We’ll be pulling up TMS clips every day in November, so come back tomorrow for another knockout nugget of metalhead history.
