The Wiz Live! aired on NBC last night, and it slayed. It slayed hard. It was arguably one of the most dazzling, inventive television offerings from the year. Boasting a great cast--including Queen Latifah, Mary J. Blige and Ne-Yo--something about the production (a remake of the 1978 film) felt fresh. Perhaps because it was one of the most diverse things on television this year.
