Vice President Joe Biden's Son Beau Dies of Brain Cancer at 46

R.I.P. Beau Biden

Beau Biden the son of the VP, and an Iraq War veteran who served as the attorney general of Delaware died Saturday at age 46, the White House said in a statement.

Biden was initially diagnosed with brain cancer in 2013, but underwent successful treatment. Sadly, the cancer suddenly returned earlier this year. He was reportedly hospitalized earlier this week at Walter Reed Medical Center — where he unfortunately passed away.

President Barack Obama spoke somberly of the Biden family's loss in a personal statement, "Michelle and I are grieving tonight," said Obama. "Beau Biden was a friend of ours. His beloved family — Hallie, Natalie, and Hunter — are friends of ours. And Joe and Jill Biden are as good as friends get."

Our condolences go out to the Biden family and friends of Beau.
