The amount of support and positivity surrounding Caitlyn Jenner yesterday was inspiring and lovely. Obviously, there was some negative response as well, largely steeped in ignorance and agenda, but the goodness was much louder. However, that doesn’t mean that some people who should know better and who have a public following themselves didn’t immediately put a foot in it.
In a now-deleted post, Drake Bell let Caitlyn know he’d still be calling her Bruce. Caitlyn Jenner is one of the most celebrated athletes of all time, has now broken President Obama’s world record for reaching 1 million Twitter followers, and will receive the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the ESPYs, and Drake Bell once had an amusing Twitter back-and-forth with Taco Bell, but keep calling her “Bruce,” bro. THAT’LL SHOW HER.
According to BuzzFeed, he then tweeted and deleted, “I’m not dissing him! I just don’t want to forget his legacy! He is the greatest athlete of all time! Chill out!” People did not care for any of what Drake was giving and that presumably includes his hair in this header picture.

@DrakeBell always liked Josh better anyways. And her name is Caitlyn.

It should be noted that his far superior Drake and Josh co-star, Josh Peck, tweeted his support.

But Drake wasn’t alone. Timbaland got in on the “your name is Bruce” bandwagon.
Of course Timbaland now says he just posted the meme because he thought it was funny and not because it had anything to do with Jenner.
And J.R. Smith from the Cleveland Cavaliers would not be left out of this parade of nonsense. He decided it would be a good idea to refer to Jenner as a “science project.”
Other disappointing reactions include this gross New York Post cover.
As a rule, putting the word “she” in quotation marks is frowned upon by common AP standards/human decency standards. Although, the AP themselves didn’t fair much better.
Her name is Caitlyn. This stuff is literally in your stylebook. https://t.co/p3TQIuegpp
