Celebrities Who Believe in Conspiracy Theories
Last month Kylie Jenner posted a HOT TAKE to Twitter regarding theories about chemtrails. The meme she posted begs a variety of questions including, "Why did I see 75 planes spraying white stuff into the sky on my way to work?...Is something being exterminated?....Why Does This Meme capitalize Some words and Not Others?...Why is the word 'responsible' spelled this brand new way? DID THE CHEMTRAILS DO IT?" (OK, that last two aren't true, but it should be!)
At first, some wondered if the 17-year-old's Twitter was hacked, but it became clear that it wasn't when she retweeted a fan's response to her post, "okay I see u tryna wake the people up."
Jenner is hardly the first star to share a controversial opinion when it comes to conspiracy theories. (Billy Corgan is on your side, Kylie!) In fact, she joins a pretty long line of stars who cry that the truth is out there. In addition to Jenner, here are 15 other notable celebrities who believe in certain conspiracy theories.
Kanye West: AIDS is Man-Made
Back in 2005, Jenner's brother-in-law told a Philadelphia crowd at the Live 8 concert that AIDS was a "man-made disease" and "placed in Africa just like crack was placed in the black community to break up the Black Panthers."
Mark Ruffalo: 9/11
The Avengers star has been pretty vocal on his thoughts on how or why the towers fell in New York City on September 11, 2001. But, he's hardly the only star who questions the events of that day: Charlie Sheen, Woody Harrelson, Willie Nelson, and Rosie O'Donnell have also expressed their thoughts on the attack.
Marion Cotillard: Moon Landing
According to the Huffington Post back in 2008, Cotillard also questioned the events of the 1969 moon landing, asking, "Did a man really walk on the moon? I saw plenty of documentaries on it, and I really wondered. And in any case I don't believe all they tell me, that's for sure." (Whoopi Goldgerg has some thoughts on the moon landing, as well.)
Kevin Costner: JFK's Assassination
The JFK star had some thoughts about one of the most debated conspiracy theories of all-time: who killed John F. Kennedy? According to NY Mag, Costner once stated, "There were a lot of people with no love lost for Kennedy — the CIA, the mob. I believe there was a conspiracy. We've lived with the myth of the Warren Commission (which concluded Oswald was a lone assassin) for a long time." Other notable Hollywood names had expressed their own thoughts on the assassination, including Tommy Lee Jones, Bruce Willis, Oliver Stone, and Sissy Spacek.
Tom DeLonge: Aliens
The Blink-182 rocker has been very vocal on his feelings about extraterrestrial life, even claiming to have had an experience near the infamous Area 51. DeLonge isn't the only one convinced we're not alone, apparently Demi Lovato, Tom Cruise, and Katy Perry join the ranks, too.
