Mariah Carey will star in a new show on E!, but she wants this to be very clear: It’s not a reality show.
Carey and E! are partnering to bring you an eight-part documentary series that will follow Carey “as she goes on a tour in Europe and South Africa…and plans her wedding to her billionaire fiancé, which is to take place this spring,” according to the New York Times. Carey started filming for the show two weeks ago. No official air date has been announced yet.
“I refuse to call it a reality show,” Carey told the Times, adding that the show isn’t about her “getting her nails done.” I mean, that would be ridiculous, right? Who wants to watch
the Kardashians celebrities get their nails done on TV? Rather, Carey’s show will be all about her fans getting to know her better.
“I thought it would be a good opportunity to kind of, like, show my personality and who I am, even though I feel like my real fans have an idea of who I am,” Carey said. “A lot of people have misperceptions about this and that.” She also made it clear that fiancé James Packer and her four-year-old twins will not appear on the show. It’s literally just going to be Mariah Carey, which brings us to this next part: The show’s name.
The name of the docuseries is absolutely golden. It’s 100% Mariah Carey, which is perfect because it sounds like she’ll be the only person on the show. Ready for it? It’s called…
Oh, yes, people. We’re not worthy of this bountiful a blessing, and yet, Mariah Carey is bestowing it upon us anyway like some kind of merciful fairy. Prepare to enter her world, Mariah’s World, in the (hopefully near) future.
