CoverGirl Announces 'Empire' Collaboration Featuring Every Female Character But Cookie
We're a week away from the return of Empire, but first, a surprise announcement.
CoverGirl revealed yesterday that it is partnering with FOX's Empire. The two brands are coming together for a line of cosmetics featuring distinct looks tied to characters Tiana Brown (Serayah), Anika Calhoun (Grace Gealey), Rhonda Lyon (Kaitlin Doubleday) and Becky (Gabourey Sidibe). The limited edition collection doesn't have a release date—yet, though CoverGirl did say an official commercial is on the way.
Empire's leading lady Taraji P. Henson 'grammed the announcement despite the fact that Cookie Lyon doesn't seem to be included in the line.
It's unclear why Henson won't be featured in CoverGirl's Empire campaign, but perhaps bigger things are in store for the actress. If there's one thing we've learned from the show itself, it's to never underestimate Cookie.
So, Empire fam, are you a Tiana, Anika, Rhonda or Becky? Peep tutorials of each of the four looks here, via YouTube, and stay tuned for the Season 3 premiere of Empire on Wednesday, March 30.
