Amber Heard is Our New Girl Crush After Reading Some of Her 'ELLE' Interview

"I have a fiercely independent spirit," Heard — who is married to Johnny Depp — told the magazine.

It's good to be Amber Heard right now. The 29-year-old actress returns to the screen July 1 in the muscle-tastic Magic Mike, and she's looking totally gorgeous on the cover of next month's ELLE magazine. She's officially our next #WCW — we know it's only Tuesday, but let us live — after reading some of her quotes from the incredibly candid interview. (Those rumors about husband Johnny Depp giving her an allowance to "keep her happy" seem even more like BS. Oh, and we also don't think they're getting a divorce any time soon.)

"Nothing is a dramatic change," Heard told ELLE about her highly-publicized marriage to the Pirates of the Caribbean star. "We've been together for a long time now, so it's been a fairly organic process. I have a fiercely independent spirit." So many feminism feels.

But one thing that pisses Heard off is the stereotyping she experiences because of her pretty face and famous husband. "I feel like I'm constantly fighting against my exterior, or this exterior presentation of myself because of how I look or perhaps because of who I'm with," she said. Not cool.

She also talks about the lack of satisfying female roles in films. "I mean we're trying to imitate life, and it seems to me a deeply saddening injustice that we are so uncreative and uninterested in developing representations of female life," she said. Here, here!

Her full interview hits newsstands June 23.
