Watch Barack and Michelle Obama Go on Their First Date in the 'Southside with You' Trailer

Barack and Michelle Obama are basically the king and queen of the United States. But before they ruled the White House, they were just two twenty-somethings visiting the Art Institute of Chicago and eating ice cream.

That's the Barack and Michelle on display in Richard Tanne's film Southside with You. The flick centers on what went down during the first "date" between 28-year-old Barack (Parker Sawyers) and 25-year-old Michelle (Tika Sumpter), and it's all kinds of adorable--mostly because Michelle refused to call it a date.

But that doesn't stop Barack from flashing that 100-watt smile and wooing her. He originally met Michelle when he was a summer associate at Chicago's Sidley Austin law firm--she was his adviser. Barack's feelings for Michelle are very apparent at the top of the trailer. They meet to attend a community event, but with time to kill, Barack suggests they do ~romantic~ things like visit the art museum and grab some food. Michelle is not amused.

Even still, away they go, and sparks fly. It's so exciting to see two will-be-powerhouses in such early stages of life. It proves Barack and Michelle are just like us: They have awkward first kisses and fight over dessert. Watch it all go down in the trailer above.
