Was Nicki Minaj Being Shady Toward Demi Lovato at the Met Gala?

See the social media receipts.

Clutch your pearls and pull out those inhalers: A Nicki Minaj and Demi Lovato feud might be happening.

Nothing is confirmed yet, but the evidence on social media is piling up. And it's juicy. Here's the tea: It all went down after the Met Gala Monday (May 2). Minaj and Lovato were Moschino designer Jeremy Scott's muses for the night, so they took several photos together. Minaj posted a pic of herself, Scott and Lovato on Instagram Tuesday (May 3); however, she only tagged Scott. A mistake or crafty shade?

Lovato seemed to think the latter. The "Confident" singer allegedly commented on Minaj's photo with the laughing emoji, a peace sign and a thumbs up. Then, she took a filtered Snapchat and captioned it, "When you aren't mentioned in a post but didn't do s--t to the other person..." She accompanied this with another laughing emoji. Was she talking about Minaj? And if not, WHO?! We're sweating.

But the most monumental piece of evidence is on Lovato's own Instagram. DemDem uploaded a photo of Minaj seemingly giving her major, major side-eye. "This picture pretty much summed up my first and probably last met ??? #cool #sof---ingawkward #notforme #sweatpants #forensicfiles #whatsgood," she captioned it. She then addressed Minaj's (apparent) dirty look. "...the shade being thrown in this picture actually gives me life," she wrote. Yikes. (Granted, Lovato did write "...p.s. some of y'all need to learn how to take a joke" in the caption, but what does that even mean?)

No word from Minaj on any social media about this "beef." However, we have a hard time believing some type of awkwardness didn't happen. The receipts seem pretty darn clear!

UPDATE: 5/5/2016 11:45 A.M.

Demi Lovato posted a series of tweets early this morning after news of her supposed Nicki Minaj feud made its rounds on the Internet yesterday. In her tweets, Lovato asserts that there is "more to the story"—which story she's referring to is unclear, though many believe it's Minaj's Instagram post.
