You'll Turn Into Mush Watching Queen Latifah Talk About Her Mom on VH1's 'Dear Mama'

Mother-daughter goals.

Queen Latifah honored her mother Rita Owens during VH1's Dear Mama--which airs Sunday, May 8 at 9 PM /8c--and this sneak-peek clip of the two talking about their relationship will turn you into straight mush.

"We're family, so whatever we have to do for each other to make sure we're OK--that's pretty much where we're at," Latifah said. "Not that everything is smooth over here. We have those struggles."

Latifah is referring to Owens' Scleroderma diagnosis in 2013. The news was certainly a test on her family's strength, but they didn't break. That's the definition of true love.

"Everyday is a gift," Owens said. "Life is for the living--even when it's difficult! ... We both know I believe in miracles. We'll be talking about this in 10 years and remembering how scared we were and we came through yet another crisis."

Latifah credits Owens for all of her professional success in Hollywood and, more than anything, wants her mom to put herself first. "Do the things that make you happy," Latifah told her mom. "Let us know what we can do to help make that happen."

And to that, all Owens said was, "You do already."
