J.K. Rowling isn’t having it with the racist backlash regarding the recent Harry Potter casting. She has message for all who are against a black woman, Olivier-award-winning actress Noma Dumezweni, playing Hermione Granger in the upcoming Harry Potter and the Cursed Child play.
“Hermione can be a black woman with my absolute blessing and enthusiasm,” she she told The Observer in a interview.
“With my experience of social media, I thought that idiots were going to idiot,” states Rowling, who frequently interests with people online on Twitter. “But what can you say? That’s the way the world is,” she said. “Noma was chosen because she was the best actress for the job.” Simple as that.
They choose the best actress to put on the best show. If you have a problem with that then don’t buy a ticket. There are plenty of other Harry Potter content out there to get your wizardly fix.
