Celebrities Pay Respect to 'The Voice' star Christina Grimmie After Fatal Shooting

Rest in Peace Christina Grimmie.

Fans of Christina Grimmie were shocked this morning when news broke of her being victim to a fatal shooting.

According to NBC News, the former contestant on The Voice, who placed third, was signing autographs along with members of the band Before You Exit after a show at Orlando's Plaza Live Theater. At around 10:45 PM, a male suspect shot Grimmie before fatally shooting himself after being tackled by the singer's brother, a police spokesperson reported.

Later, ABC News sadly received a statement from Grimmie's rep confirming her death.

"It is with a heavy heart that we can confirm that Christina has passed and went home to be with the Lord. She was shot at her show in Orlando and, unfortunately, didn't survive the gun shot wounds. We ask at this time that you respect the privacy of her family and friends in their time of mourning. If you'd like to give back to Christina's family in her memory, please consider donating to the families GoFundMe page in their time of need."

When news broke, fans flooded Twitter to pay their respects to Grimmie with the hashtag #PrayforChristina trending immediately.

The Voice and judge Adam Levine both issued statements and paid their respects.
